New to The Parent Infant Program?
This taster is the perfect first step for you ahead of our October term (peek at our schedule in the photos!). Our classes run from 6 weeks until walking, and this is your chance to meet the team and see how PIP supports your little one's development.
The session introduces you to a typical PIP class: supporting strong foundations through...
- Movement and stretches
- Purposeful play activities that build gross motor, fine motor, and visual-perceptual skills,
- Build body awareness and integrate primitive reflexes,
- Finishing with a nurturing infant massage.
You'll also see a demonstration on Choking First Aid Rescue, an important skill for any parent. We always leave time at the end for questions, refreshments, and a chat with the instructors, other parents and bbs 🧡
Our term classes are grouped into monthly ages (0 to 3 months, 4 to 5, 6 to 7, 8 to 9, and 10+). For Taster Day we run two classes, each covering a slightly wider age range:
1. Pre-sitters (6 weeks to 5 months, born May to August)
Working on: visual tracking, grasping, primitive reflexes, body awareness on tummy and back, head and neck control, motor planning with weight bearing, balance, rolling and reaching
2. For our sitters (6 to 9 months old, born between Jan-April)
Working on: purposeful gross and fine motor skills, balance, motor planning, and strength for moving in and out of crawling and towards walking
